6 - Thou shall disapprove and deny your Annual Leave request and say "Needed as Scheduled" or "Needs of Service," or Hell, don't give you any reason at all. They say I want you here. 7 - Thou shall request and require Medical Documentation when you call in and request for Sick Leave for three (3) days or less and will not accept a written statement from you. They say prove to me you are sick and go to the doctor. 8 - Thou shall harass and request and require Medical Documentation when you call in and request for FMLA or report absence for IOD (injury on duty). They don't care about your FMLA or IOD case. 9 - Thou shall AWOL, give LWOP, and disapprove your Sick Leave, FMLA, and IOD absences prior to you returning back to work with the Medical Documentation. You realize this when you get your check stub. They don't even give you a copy of the AWOL, LWOP, or Disapproved 3971. 10- Thou shall issue discipline for Express Mail Failures. They will tell you in a heartbeat Express Mail, it's not a clerk’s duty or job description to deliver Express Mail, that anybody can do it. 11- Thou shall Disapprove and Deny your Request for a Personal Change of Schedule to change your reporting time and work schedule. They shall change your schedule when it's convenient for them. 12- Thou shall Improperly Excess and Involuntary Reassign you Outside the Craft, Outside the Installation, into another Craft (Carrier or Maintenance). They say we have too many clerks and not enough work or mail. 13- Thou shall deny you your Retreat Rights to return back to the Craft. They say we are short of Carriers. 14- Thou shall abolish your duty assignment and bid job. They say we have too many clerks with Sat-Sun off Days. 15- Thou shall illegally Change your Lunch Time and make you go early. They say to meet the lunch rush hour. 16- Thou shall deny you a ten (10) minute break after every two (2.00) hours of work. They say the line and customer comes first. 17- Thou shall change your Bid Job hours and work schedule more than 2.00 hours and get your bid job reposted. They want you outta there. 18- Thou shall illegally Revert bid jobs and do not repost when they become vacant. They say we are over complement. 19- Thou shall deny you a Union Steward when your want to file a grievance. They say, Oh, I forgot. 20- Thou shall deny Steward's Union Time to file your grievances. They say I need you to work the floor. BONUS (And One) Thou shall deny you Overtime and Out of Schedule Pay. The managers and supervisors perform clerk work, In Your Face. They have Carriers, RCA's, and Mail Handlers to perform clerk work, In Your Face. This is why the Excess, Abolish, and Revert our jobs. Some of you are not writing statements and filing grievances. When they do, who do you call Ghostbusters? No, you call the Union, but it's too late. There are several more, but these are the most common and daily violations. They have a shoot now and ask questions later mentality. They don't care as long as the mail is getting out. Have your rights been violated? When are you going to say, "Enough is Enough"? When are you going to take a stand?
Veterans Day: Recognition of Veterans. As we celebrate and honor our Veterans on Veterans Day, let us remember we have APWU members who are currently serving in the military and are away from their families, loved one, and jobs. I take this opportunity to recognize and thank all of the men and women who are currently serving in the military and let you know you are not forgotten. A special thanks to all Veterans (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines) who have served and made sacrifices to allow us to have the freedom of a true democracy and live in the best country in the world. In the spirit of patriotism, continue to pray for and support our troops.
