To all our members who would like to attend out Union meetings, but Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM is not a good time for you. It cost me Sunday Premium, but I attend. Would you attend our meeting in the evening, on a weeknight? Would you attend during the day (especially our tour 1 folks)? read more
How about alternating times and days? For instance, let’s have our meeting every other month at 7:30 PM on Thursday night! Maybe some tailgating after the meeting! The next month, how about 1:00PM on Thursday afternoon? Maybe a Saturday? Our attendance is horrible for a Local of our size. When I was a pipefitter in Tulsa, Oklahoma, we met on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM. We needed to be there at least as half hour early to get a seat, the Union Hall was always full and then some. So lets find some time (s) and day (s) that will allow more of out members to attend. Send your preferences to our website, Tell your Steward or Union Representative and we will write your wishes down on paper.
Naturally we can’t please everybody, but we definitely need to increase our participation at the meetings and stand up for our Union. These meetings are for Union business, not Questions that can be answered by your Steward or by calling your Craft Director or Business Agent during the week.
